Executive Biography
Brent Perry, CEO
Brent is an experienced and passionate leader in the marine industry, and has a
history of building high performance teams and service organizations. As a
professional boat builder, he has taken the opportunity to travel around the
world, working with people of numerous backgrounds, cultures and languages;
sharing his passion for excellence with others, and building some of the most
beautiful custom and production yachts in the world.
His clear sense of purpose and his dedication to great customer service
relationships have enabled the companies he has worked with to thrive. His
skills at creating and inspiring operational excellence in organizations has
led him to his position with Corvus Energy, where he leads a ground breaking
team into the green field business of advanced lithium power.
He believes strongly in giving back to the world which has offered himself and
his family many exciting and diverse experiences. He is dedicated to preserving
the environment he loves through recyclable technology which eliminates
emissions and helps to reduce pollution.
During his time off, Brent enjoys hiking, camping and yachting with his family,
designing boats and sharing his collection of acoustic guitar music with his
friends.
Neil Simmonds, CTO
Mr. Simmonds has worked in the battery industry for over twenty five years. He
has been the lead researcher on numerous research projects and has developed
products for many of the worlds’ leading original equipment manufacturers
including Bell Labs/Lucent
Technologies, Motorola, Phillips Communications, Sony Corp., NEC, Panasonic,
Sanyo, Rayovac Corp. to name a few, as well as numerous government and military
organizations. Neil holds over 70 patents in the field of battery management.
Neil enjoys playing ice hockey and fishing, and he likes fine food and fine
wine.
Neil’s achievements include the following:

The first commercially available battery conditioning system for nickel
cadmium batteries (circa 1987).

The first sub-4C charging algorithms for nickel cadmium batteries (circa
1991).

The first sub-1C charging algorithms for nickel metal hydride batteries
(circa 1993).

One of the first single-unit multi-chemistry chargers for NiCd, NiMH and Li-on batteries (circa 1995).

The first universal input starved-regulator technique for Li-ion/LiP
batteries (circa 2000).

The lowest cost full-function charger for Li-ion/Lip batteries (circa 2001).

A highly integrated controller for the control of Li-ion batteries in
electric and hybrid electric vehicles (circa 2005).
George Roddan, CMO
Mr. Roddan has been involved in consulting and hydrodynamic design of marine
craft for the last 28 years. He has extensive experience in physical model
testing, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and performance evaluation, as
well as in detailed structural design and driveline engineering for all types
of vessels.
He has worked with most of the leaders of the marine industry, both in North
America and abroad. His work has included the design and testing of the latest
mega-yachts, large passenger vessels, as well as sailboats and other marine
craft. He has particular expertise in improving and trouble-shooting custom and
commercial yacht designs with performance-related issues.
His interest in efficiency and performance related issues led him to the study
of hybrid marine propulsion systems. His vision of a market for large scale,
high performance energy storage systems is now becoming a reality.
In his spare time, Mr. Roddan helps his friends with their wooden boat
restoration projects, and he plays blues and bluegrass slide guitar.
Cec Primeau, CFO
Cec brings to the management team a career of unique and successful senior
management experience as a CFO, COO and CIO in a number of organizations.
Most recently he has consulted to early stage and start up company for both
strategic and business plans and implementation. His successes included fund
raising of over $6m in a similar organization. Prior to that Cec was both COO
and CFO for seven years for a technology based company, going from start up to
successful sale of the company. In addition, during Cec’s leadership, the
company was selected for multiple years as one of Canadian Business magazines
50 Best Companies to work for.
Cec was also a Principal at PricewaterhouseCoopers during the late 90’s leading
the Canadian practice in understanding and imparting to key clients the impact
of the Internet on their businesses. His understanding of the impact of new
technologies on traditional businesses was instrumental in changing how many
companies adopted these emerging technologies.
Prior to his tenure at PwC, Cec served as a senior financial executive in a
variety of industries. He graduated nationally at the top of his profession
and has leveraged that knowledge together with a successful business career to
contribute to the success of the companies he has worked with.
Cec’s MBA in International Management will make a difference to Corvus Energy
as the company expands successfully both in North America and worldwide. He
enjoys working hard, spending time with his family, especially his new
granddaughter and making a difference in everything he undertakes.
